My Bio

Author of Nutrition and Your Child's Soul: Don Quixote's Heart-Cry
"Studying the biochemical pathways of the human body and meeting people soul-to-soul in my clinic reveal the glory of God's creation to me, just like standing on a mountain and inhaling the beauty – something I've also done a lot of." (Dolev)

On any given day, Dolev Gilmore may be seen speaking to students, health professionals or laymen from all walks of life about matters of natural medicine, or giving someone nutritional advice or a shiatsu treatment, or guiding a client through the paths of their soul using varied guided imagery techniques, or researching something in the online medical library or hugging one of his 12 grandchildren. Or, on any given day, you might not find him at all, because he is reading or meditating in the forest or hiking in the mountains.

Born in 1951, Gilmore was raised in Beachwood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. He attended Tulane University and the University of Cincinnati, receiving a B.A. in Humanities. He moved to Israel in 1973 and was one of the pioneer organic farmers there. In 1987, Gilmore began studying natural medicine, receiving certification as a clinical nutritionist from the Reidman College of Complimentary Medicine in 2001, as well as in shiatsu, medicinal herbology and other modalities. He rounded out his "spiritual side" by taking courses in guided imagery, as well as past-life therapy professional training with Brian Weiss, M.D. and soul retrieval with the shaman, Alberto Villoldo, PhD.

Gilmore's first name is officially Reuven. He adopted the name, "Dolev", after a vision quest in a secluded spot in the Golan Heights. The dolev is a tree which grows mainly along stream beds; it has leaves similar to maple leaves.

Why are we telling you all this? Just like the dolev tree draws water from the stream, Dolev Reuven Gilmore's writings draw from the many waters of his rich life experience - as a father and grandfather, an autodidactic intellectual, a farmer and a spiritual seeker.

Gilmore's specialty is orthomolecular nutrition, the use of simple natural substances like vitamins and minerals in disease prevention and healing, supplementing a natural diet. Using this approach and deeply researching whatever is necessary to understand each individual case, Gilmore has helped people with a wide range of health problems. The orthomolecular tradition of medicine spans 60 years of science-based healing. In Gilmore's opinion, it should be recognized as the primary form of preventative and curative medicine. The fact that orthomolecular treatment is neglected pushed Gilmore to write Nutrition and Your Child's Soul.

Don't miss the opportunity to read this important book.
